You might think that you’re out of topics, and the well of ideas has gone dry. You simply cannot think of anything else to write about! You’ve written about all kinds of things in your niche and it seems like nothing is left. However, usually this is because you’re stuck in your own head and haven’t bothered to think outside the box – or look at others' ideas. Looking in other places doesn’t mean you're copying, and it can give you the insight and ability to think of even more topics so your blog can keep on growing.
Check Out Your Hobbies for Inspiration
You might not think that playing Bejeweled has anything to do with computers and your niche in particular, but that doesn’t mean you can’t write a blog post about your hobbies. Don’t believe us? Think about it. There are lessons and truths everywhere, and you can use those to your advantage. Let’s say you ride horses. What can riding a horse teach you about business? Persistence, attentiveness, control. There are many things you can learn from any aspect of your life, and a lot of the time unique ideas and titles that hobby posts generate will bring more traffic in.
Interview an Expert or Two
When you honestly don’t think you can think of any posts for your blog, turn to other people. Most of the time, other experts in your field are more than happy to spend an hour answering your questions, especially if the interview is over the Internet or over email. It gives them the opportunity to get their name out, and it gives you the opportunity to post expert advice that isn’t your own to your blog. A fresh perspective will often reawaken your audience and make them pay more attention.
